Behind-the-Scenes Exploration @ Kings Theatre, Brooklyn’s “Wonder Theatre”
Join New York Adventure Club for a private, behind-the-scenes tour of Kings Theatre, one of the five Loew’s “wonder theatre” movie palaces built in the New York City area between 1929-1930.
Originally designed in 1929 by architectural masters Rapp & Rapp with interior design by Harold W. Rambusch, the 3,000+ seat Kings Theatre underwent a massive $95 million restoration/renovation project in 2013, which restored original plaster and painting schemes, vintage carpet and seating, and historic lighting fixtures.
Our special experience will include:
- An overview of the history and architecture of the former movie palace
- A discussion around its new life after a $95M restoration to a state-of-the-art live performance venue
- A walk through of the original foyer, hallways, parlors, and main theatre
- A NYAC-only visit to the main stage facing the 3,000 seat theatre
