Officially opened in September 2009, Manitoba Hydro Place, Manitoba Hydro’s new head office building in downtown Winnipeg, is a world class, energy-efficient structure that embodies and demonstrates Manitoba Hydro’s commitment to be a global leader in energy efficiency, sustainability and green building design. Utilizing the Integrated Design Process, this state-of-the art structure has collected accolades including the award for “Best Tall Building – Americas” by the Council for Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) and recognition as “Canada’s Most Important Building” by the Toronto Star. The building has been lauded for integrating signature architecture with extreme energy efficiency to create a healthy and effective work environment for over two thousand employees.
