With its luscious sets and visual wonders, The Thief of Bagdad has charmed viewers of all ages for decades. Inspired by The Arabian Nights, this spectacular fantasy film is brimming with imagination and technical wizardry. When Prince Ahmad (John Justin) is blinded and cast out of Bagdad by the nefarious Jaffar (Conrad Veidt), he joins forces with the scrappy thief Abu (the incomparable Sabu in his definitive role) to win back his royal palace and the heart of a beautiful princess (June Duprez).

About the Speaker

Jeanette Hayes is an artist who blends historical art, fashion, and internet culture. After graduating from Pratt Institute, she took the Internet by storm by earning more than 24,000 Instagram followers with her digital-analog hybrids. She modeled for Opening Ceremony, did an installation at Alexander Wang’s Fashion Week after-party, and made .GIFS for Proenza Schouler, a mini-art mag for Purple, and a short film consisting of a year’s worth of iPhone videos. She’s been featured in several magazines, including the New York Times, Vogue, and Time Out.
