Chen Dance Center’s “newsteps”

Chen Dance Center, located at 70 Mulberry Street in NYC’s Chinatown (corner of Mulberry & Bayard), presents “newsteps,” its semi-annual emerging choreographer’s series, showing works in January by choreographers Hannah Garner, Gina Montalto, Takeshi Ohashi, Laura Henry, and Ayaka Kamei. The young dancemakers, chosen through an open audition, will receive a stipend, rehearsal space at the Chen Dance Center, and three public performances to show their work. Since 1994, the Chen Dance Center has supported and presented hundreds of dancers and choreographers developing new and innovative works.
