Conversations in the Commons with Peter Beinart: Islam in America

Peter Beinart welcomes two important voices from the Islamic community. Daisy Khan, of the Women’s Islamic Initiative in Spirituality & Equality, prompted a national dialogue on religious freedom when she and her husband proposed building a community center near Ground Zero, in 2009. Arsalan Iftikhar is the author of Islamic Pacifism: Global Muslims in the Post-Osama Era. Beinart, a prominent journalist and GC faculty member, hosts this series of interactive and provocative discussions in the Graduate Center’s Dining Commons. Light snacks will be offered.
