Dance Iquail!

Dancer/choreographer Iquail Shaheed brings his Philadelphia-based company to the Ailey Citigroup Theatre for the world premiere of his “Public Enemy.”   The work for 9 male dancers explores black male identity in the context of social issues that disproportionately affect black men, particularly in the areas of policing, incarceration, and racialized violence.  The work has been created in collaboration with civil rights leader William Cobb, storyteller Daniel Carlton, and composer Jo Jo Streater.
