David Colmer is a writer and translator. He translates Dutch literature in a wide range of genres including literary fiction, nonfiction, children’s books, and poetry. He is a four-time winner of the David Reid Poetry Translation Prize, and received the 2009 Biennial NSW Premier and PEN Translation Prize. His translation of Gerbrand Bakker’s The Twin (Archipelago) was awarded the International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award and he received—along with Gerbrand Bakker—the Independent Foreign Fiction Prize for Bakker’s novel The Detour.
Philip Huff (1984) studied philosophy and history in Amsterdam and Berlin. He has published stories and essays in De Gids , Hollands Maandblad , NRC Handelsblad , Volkskrant Magazine, De Correspondent , Das Magazin , De Groene Amsterdammer , The Dublin Review , Music & Literature, Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue . His debut novel Dagen van gras was published in 2009, followed by the novel Niemand in de stad (2012) and the collection of stories Good to be here (2013). Book of the dead (2014) is his most recent novel. In 2015 Het verdriet from others appeared , a personal reading history.
