Economics Seminar Series-Charles Jeszeck and Sharon Hermes

Charles Jeszeck and Sharon Hermes from the US Government Accountability Office will talk about “Addressing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Risks in Retirement Plan Investments”

Abstract:

Can people mobilize to use finance to change corporations behavior? ESG factors are increasingly being used by investors to manage material financial risks. ESG factors are used more by retirement plans in other countries – France, the Netherlands, and the U.K. In particular, representatives of plans we reviewed in these countries described using ESG integration strategies to address the risk of climate change. Why not Americans!!

Hosted by the NSSR/Economics Department, the seminar series features lectures, paper and book presentations from prominent economists.
