Ethics and the Theater will present a play reading of The Call, by Tanya Barfield
Directed by Gregory Taylor
Adopting a baby from Africa seems so right to Anna and Peter, a socially conscious couple who have tried painfully and unsuccessfully to conceive on their own. But the glow of prospective parenthood dims and good-humored teasing becomes barbed as the couple confronts the complex realities of raising a child from another race and culture.
Come at 6:30 for a reception and after the reading participate in a discussion of the ethical issues of the play, led by Betsy Ungar.
Entry to our 100-year-old building and meeting rooms is available for most wheelchair users with prior arrangements. Please call ahead (212-874-5210 x107) for setup of our portable system and plan to arrive one hour before start time.
