Flagstad—Triumph and Tragedy

kristinScandinavia House presents “Flagstad—Triumph and Tragedy,” the new play written and directed by Norwegian playwright Elnar Bjorge, and starring renowned Norwegian actress Nina Bendiksen. Performed here in English, the one-woman play presents an intimate portrait of the world famous Norwegian soprano Kirsten Flagstad (1895-1962), regarded by many as the voice of the century. Rare Flagstad recordings will be heard during the one-hour play, as well Bendiksen delivering newly released source material, including personal correspondence that present, in the soprano’s own words, confessions and reflections that she never shared in public during her lifetime.

Performances are Feb. 26 & 27 at 7:30PM and Saturday Feb. 28 at 5:30PM.
