Gillian Thomas: Because of Sex

Title VII: A federal law that prohibits employers from discriminating against employees on the basis of sex, race, color, national origin, and religion. It is regarded as a monumental achievement for the civil rights movement and revolutionized the workplace. The women affected by this new law soon realized they could challenge the status quo and demand equality in their jobs.

Join us in the Rare Book Room as Gillian Thomas share the plights of these women and her work as an attorney for civil rights as she is joined in conversation with columnist Irin Carmon.
