Talk Title: New insights into RNA editing regulation
Talk Abstract: Dr. Li’s work focuses on A-to-I RNA editing catalyzed by ADAR enzymes. Dr. Li’s Lab and others have significantly expanded the RNA editomes in human, mice, flies, and other species. Their recent interests aim to understand how RNA editing is regulated both in cis and in trans, as well as to identify functionally important RNA editing events. In this talk, Dr. Li will focus on his lab’s recent efforts towards systematic understanding of the dynamic regulation of RNA editing.
Biography: Jin Billy Li, PhD, is Assistant Professor of Genetics at Stanford University. He received his undergraduate degree at Tsinghua University in Beijing and received his graduate degree in Genetics from Washington University in St. Louis. His postdoctoral training with Professor George Church at Harvard Medical School focused on developing genomic technologies. His laboratory at Stanford focuses on RNA editing studies using interdisciplinary approaches ranging from molecular genetics, genomics, biochemistry, cell biology, neurobiology, evolutionary biology, computational biology, to technology development.Buy tickets/get more info now
