John Perry on Procrastination

Put off the essay, forget your laundry, and stop puttering around your apartment for no reason. Come to the Strand, and hear Professor John Perry talk about his book, The Art of Procrastination, a smart, offbeat look at how putting things off can mean getting things done. The book is based on Perry’s award-winning online essay, “Structured Procrastination.” Joining him in conversation is New York’s own Leonard Lopate.

John Perry is an emeritus professor of philosophy at Stanford University. He received the Jean Nicod Prize in 1999 for his book Knowledge, Possibility and Consciousness. He currently co-hosts the weekly radio show and podcast Philosophy Talk.

Leonard Lopate has hosted The Leonard Lopate Show on New York Public Radio for nearly 30 years. He has interviewed a broad range of people from politicians to actors to musicians to Nobel and Pulitzer Prize winners.
