John Singer Sargent’s Watercolors – Sargent, the Sensualist

Scholar Trevor Fairbrother argues that viewing the artist John Singer Sargent as a sensualist connects otherwise conflicting elements of his oeuvre and offers a new interpretation of his life and work.

This three-part series will feature a curator, conservator, author, and artist discussing different aspects of Sargent’s life and artistic technique. Tours of the exhibition and watercolor demonstrations will precede and follow the talks. Tickets are $12 when purchased individually, or $30 as a series. Free for Museum Members.
