Dr. Martin Luther King Remembrance Day: A panel discussion with David Rothenberg, founder of The Fortune Society; Bob Gangi, founder of the Police Reform Organizing Project (PROP); and Kyung-Ji Kate Rhee, juvenile justice director of the Center for NuLeadership on Urban Solutions.
Our annual remembrance keeps the memory and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. lively for us. This year we emphasize a society goal of humanizing criminal justice by hosting a panel discussion with leaders in this field.
David Rothenberg founded The Fortune Society in 1967; its vision is to create a world where all who are incarcerated or formerly incarcerated can become positive, contributing members of society. Using research and analysis, public education, policy advocacy and coalition-building,
PROP works to expose and correct abusive police tactics that routinely and disproportionately do harm to our city’s low-income communities and people of color.
The Center for NuLeadership on Urban Solutions is an independent research, training and advocacy Human Justice think tank, founded and developed by academic professionals with prior experience within the criminal punishment system. It is the first of its kind in the country.
