My Story, My Voice…A True Story
Miramills Productions in partnership with The Producers Circle invite you to join us for the launch of Ivy Omere‘s play ‘My Story, My Voice’ at The Players.
This one-woman play depicts the life of a young British girl of Nigerian descent in the 1970’s, who is thrown into the world of a children’s home and multiple foster parents, eventually returning to the troubled home of her own parents. Written and performed by Omere, ‘My Story, My Voice’ reminds us that even in the bleakest of beginnings, there is hope and even triumph!
“We taste the jelly tarts and sweets, we see the bright colors in the toilet water and we hear the solace in the local music teachers piano…and the unspeakable vulnerabilities of human skin.”
-Dr. Mahlika Hopwood, Fordham University.
Don’t miss this one night only performance of “My Story, My Voice” at The Players in Gramercy, the Historic Private Social Club for entertainers and patrons of the arts whose members include Christopher Plummer, Sydney Poitier, Bebe Neuwirth, Tony Bennett, and Harry Belafonte.
