Join us at Book Culture on Columbus Wednesday, June 28th at 7pm for a conversation between Nick White, author of How to Survive a Summer, and Garrard Conley, author of Boy Erased.
In How to Survive a Summer, Nick White’s searing debut novel, centers around a gay-to-straight conversion camp in Mississippi and a man’s reckoning with the trauma he faced there as a teen.
Garrard Conley’s memoir, Boy Erased, tells the story of his life-changing decision after being outed to his parents: either agree to attend a church-supported conversion therapy program that promised to cure him of homosexuality or risk losing family, friends, and the God he had prayed to every day of his life.
