JP Brammer
John Paul Brammer is a writer, speaker, and activist based in New York City. His work has been published in The Guardian, Slate, BuzzFeed, NBC, and many other outlets. His work blends the deeply personal with the political. Samples of his writing, including essays, memoirs, and features can be found here on his website. ¡Hola Papi! is coming out from Simon & Schuster’s flagship imprint in 2021.
Krutika Mallikarjuna
Krutika Mallikarjuna is an entertainment journalist who writes at the intersection of pop culture and identity. She’s currently the features editor at TV Guide. You can also find her bylines at BuzzFeed, Teen Vogue, Shondaland, Inverse, as well as in the anthology collection The Good Immigrant USA. Her best writing however, is undoubtedly found in drunk live-tweet form @krutika.
Leah Johnson
Leah Johnson is a writer, editor, and eternal Midwesterner currently moonlighting as a New Yorker. She is a graduate of Indiana University and Sarah Lawrence College, where she received her MFA in fiction writing and currently teaches in the undergraduate writing program. Her YA novels You Should See Me in a Crown (June 2020) and Rise to the Sun (2021) are forthcoming from Scholastic.
Matt Ortile (moderator)
Matt Ortile (or-TEE-lay) is the author of the essay collection The Groom Will Keep His Name (Bold Type Books, June 2020) and the managing editor of Catapult magazine. Previously, he was the global publishing lead for BuzzFeed International and the founding editor of BuzzFeed Philippines. He is a MacDowell Colony Fellow and has written for BuzzFeed Reader, Into, Self, Out, and Details, among others. He graduated from Vassar College, which means he now lives in Brooklyn.
