Readings and Conversations with poet Bobby Gonzalez

Hop off the BCA’s Bronx Culture Trolley at BxMA and hear Bronx poet Bobby Gonzalez discuss The Last Puerto Rican Indian: A Collection of Dangerous Poetry, a collection of verses that reflect upon five centuries of dramatic upheavals and heroic triumphs of Native Peoples from North, Central and South America and the Caribbean.

Inspired by the collection, the signing will be prefaced by a lecture entitled “Tales from the American Holocaust” which will examine the cultural and physical genocide subjected to Native Peoples. This talk, accompanied by a slide show, will discuss how looking honestly at the past can help us break the cycle of violence and create a more just and tolerant world.
