ScreenTimes: Wildlife with Carey Mulligan, Jake Gyllenhaal, Paul Dano, and Zoe Kazan

Logan Hill, contributor for The New York Times, hosts an advance screening of the Sundance and Cannes Film Festival favorite “Wildlife,” followed by a conversation with Academy Award-nominated stars Carey Mulligan and Jake Gyllenhaal and the film’s co-writer/director Paul Dano and co-writer Zoe Kazan. Elegantly adapted from the Richard Ford novel, “Wildlife” tracks the changes in a 1960’s nuclear family when the father leaves his wife and young son to fight a forest fire near the Canadian border. Hear Mulligan and Gyllenhaal discuss how they illuminated the gradual dissolution of the marriage at the heart of the story and how Dano made the transition from acclaimed actor to first-time director while also working with Kazan to retain the novel’s precise details and textures of its specific time and place.
