Robert Taplin is based in New Haven, CT, and represented in New York by Winston Wachter Fine Arts. He has had solo shows at numerous museums including the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, Ridgefield, CT.

His public commissions include projects for the State of Connecticut and the New York MTA. Taplin has received grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Guggenheim Memorial Foundation. He has written extensively on sculpture and has taught at a number of institutions including Yale University and Rhode Island School of Design.
