Somebody Feed Phil (in Tel Aviv)

Phil Rosenthal doesn’t pretend to have the palate, or panache, of Anthony Bourdain. The creator of Everybody Loves Raymond is a gleeful nebbish, a food cheerleader who breaks into funky dances while eating his favorite foods, which include almost everything he eats, especially rugelach and matzo ball soup – “soul food,” as he calls it. His unabashed enthusiasm is the delight of his new Netflix series, Somebody Feed Phil — enthusiasm about food and the people he encounters on adventures from Los Angeles to Mexico, New York to Buenos Aires.

Phil will screen the episode shot in Tel Aviv and then talk about growing up in Queens and Rockland County, Everybody Loves Raymond, directing President Bill Clinton in a White House Correspondents’ Dinner video and why he checks in with his parents via Skype in every episode.
