Speakeasy Electroswing Dance Party

Converse with cool cats and dolled-up dames to the sounds of live Jazz and electro-swing by the Scofflaw Scoundrels Rich Green & Faith in the Glitch. Brush up on your dance moves with a swing dance lesson at the beginning of the night by Brooklyn Swings. Get Framed in a photo by Sam Froond of Urban Adventures, either while dancing or at the photobooth, where you can immortalize yourself and your friends in your dapper digs.

During the United State’s Prohibition Era (1920-1933), alcoholic beverages were illegal, and yet the liquor flowed and the people danced late into the night – because of Speakeasies: bars, saloons, taverns, and other establishments that would illegally sell the sought-after sauce to those members of society too rebellious to let the ancient culture of cocktail creation die out.

The rebels won, the hooch was (re)legalized, and now, almost 100 years later, we celebrate the attitude of the era at The Speakeasy Sessions at Caveat’s secret underground library – now with a brand new cocktail menu.

Come help us build a subculture where the wood and brass of old style jazz meet the glitchy digital sounds of the modern day.

Doors: 11pm
