Special Event & Exhibition Celebrating the Terrain Gallery Anniversary & the Life & Art of Dorothy Koppelman

Join us in celebrating the 64th anniversary of the Terrain Gallery and the life of Dorothy Koppelman—founding director, artist, Aesthetic Realism consultant, one of the most important women in cultural history.

Dorothy Koppelman passionately wanted people everywhere to know what Eli Siegel, founder of Aesthetic Realism, explained:

“All beauty is a making one of opposites, and the making one of opposites is what we are going after in ourselves.”

All the Terrain Gallery’s groundbreaking exhibitions have been based on that great principle.

At this event you’ll see powerful paintings and prints by Dorothy Koppelman. You’ll hear some of her wonderful writing, and also portions of Eli Siegel’s historic discussion of her work. —All with comment by fellow artists and educators.

A reception with light refreshments will follow.
