T’ Space: Art, Architecture, Music, Poetry with Kate Farrell

Join T Space for the launch of their new book, T’ Space: Art, Architecture, Music, Poetry, and a poetry reading from Kate Farrell.

Kate Farrell grew up in Southern Pines, North Carolina. After the death of her first husband, she moved with her two small children to New York City to complete a literature degree at Columbia University. There she studied with the poet Kenneth Koch who would become a fast friend and frequent literary collaborator. Of her seven books, two were co-authored by Koch, including Sleeping on the Wing: An Anthology of Modern Poetry with Essays on Reading and Writing, a critically acclaimed volume widely used in high school and college classrooms. Several of her books are anthologies that illustrate poetry from around the world with works of art from the Metropolitan Museum and the National Gallery. Farrell has taught writing at Columbia University, in the NY State Poets in the Schools Program and at the New York Art Theater Institute, a literature- and art-oriented theater company where she acted for a decade. She has also given talks on the connections between the arts in museums and other venues. Farrell’s poetry has appeared in numerous journals and her work was chosen for three editions of Best Spiritual Writing. Her most recent book is Visiting Night at the Academy of Longing, a volume of her poems, published by Lavender Ink in 2016.
