Under the Stars of Giotto—Exhibition

Under the Stars of Giotto – Exhibition

Giotto was the painter who transformed Western art.

Giotto was able to blend realism and spirituality, man and the divine.

From November 14, 2023 at the New York Cultural Institute, visitors will be able to enter Giotto’s masterpiece, the Scrovegni Chapel in Padua, through a virtual immersive experience.

A scanning campaign conducted in the summer of 2023 made it possible to recreate in detail both the Scrovegni Chapel and its crypt, which is usually not accessible. The technology used is Italian and belongs to a cutting-edge company: Hidonix. Tickets: general entry: $16 – children $8, senior $12. Tickets available HERE

Explanatory panels will tell how Giotto’s painting inspired the extraordinary cycles of fourteenth-century frescoes thanks for which “Padua – Urbs picta” was recognized as a UNESCO site.

A photographic exhibition by Francesca Magnani “Padua Postcards” will give visitors the emotion of the human context in which the works of Giotto and Guariento are inserted.

Moroso’s furnishings will create an evocative bridge between the past and present of Italian creativity.

The installation in progress by Ozmo – one of the most important representatives of Italian street art – will dialogue with a memory that has nourished our future for centuries.
