Valentina Kozlova International Ballet Competition

The Valentina Kozlova International Ballet Competition will take place April 18-21 at The Kaye Playhouse, with 100+ talented ballet and contemporary dancers from around the world competing for company contracts, scholarships to international schools, and medals.   Charles Jude, former etoile with the Paris Opera Ballet, returns as President of the Jury, which includes many famous names in the dance world, including Nina Ananiashvili, Mikko Nissinsen, Virginie Mecene, and more.  Schedule:

April 18 opens at 1:30 pm with a performance by Ananiashvili’s State Ballet of Georgia, currently on tour in the U.S., followed by Round 1 Classical Ballet;

April 19 begins at 2 pm for Contemporary/Neo Classical Dancers;

April 20 begins at 2 pm with Finals for Classical Ballet;

April 21 begins at 7 pm with a Gala Performance of medalists, guests, the Joffrey Ballet Concert Group led by Bradley Shelver, a duet for Ricardo Scheir and Kozlova, former principal dancer with the Bolshoi Ballet and New York City Ballet, followed by Awards Announcement of this year’s medalists.
