White Lies, Tall Tales, and Whoppers

Lies are everywhere. They exist throughout our platonic and romantic relationships, at our workplaces, in business, in the media, and in politics. Furthermore, they are often told with great conviction, gall, and… success (!)
In this talk, Dr. Ian Reed will show us how we can assess whether someone is lying to us through the face, body, and voice. He will then conclude with remarks on the virtues of deception, truth, and knowledge.
About The Speaker

He studies facial expression of emotion, focusing on why we so visibly express our private motivational and emotional states. He is also a clinically trained psychologist with a specialization in treating adolescents and adults with mood and emotional disorders.
