11:00am Happy Bones Festival
NYSEC welcomes all families to attend its Happy Bones Festival in the Fall Season. Free and open to the public, it includes face painting, mystery explorations, sharing of ancestral stories and memories, autumn arts and crafts, fun snacks!
In 2015, we will celebrate this on November 1st, 11am, on the 5th floor (and playground, weather permitting). Please RSVP to [email protected]
Each year, Ethics For Children at NYSEC hosts a Happy Bones Festival that brings a life-affirming experience to the mysterious and natural themes of the fall season. This is a creative and non-commercialized, non-gorey celebration that spins together the mysteries of body and ancestry of All-Hallows-Eve and Dia de los Muertos (the Mexican tradition of Day of the Dead) into a dance celebration of HAPPY BONES.
Click here to watch a wonderful short animation to become enthused for the HAPPY BONES FESTIVAL.
This animation was created by Ethical Explorers: Lillian with her teachers, Amy Reid and Audrey Kindred. (NOTE: The Happy Bones song is inspired as a spinoff from “Laughter Yogi,” Laraaji Brahmanadananda.)
