The Brooklyn Academy of Music and Greenlight Bookstore, an independent shop in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, partnered last September to create Unbound, a literary series at BAM that brings today’s most notable authors to the museum’s auditorium for the exclusive launch of their latest works.
This season, the likes of Jonathan Lethem, Richard Dawkins and Angélique Kidjo, have already graced the stage. Catch the final event of the season on March 3, 6:30 at BAM with two complimentary tickets to meet Alain de Botton.
Alain de Botton is an essayist whose books have been bestsellers in 30 countries. Described as doling the “philosophy of everyday life has been described as a “philosophy of everyday life.” His books have been bestsellers in 30 countries. He writes about love, travel, architecture and literature.
As part of Unbound, Alain will discuss his latest book, published February 2014, titled The News: A User’s Manual. His latest book combines examples of news with philosophical insight, begging the question: What is this medium of news doing to our souls, our brains and our lives.
This final Unbound event of the season will include an intimate discussion followed by a Q-and-A session with Alain de Botton and a book signing on Monday, March 3, 6:30 p.m. at BAM. Enter through Tuesday, Feb. 25.
