Author Kim Fu presents ‘For Today I Am A Boy’

Author Kim Fu draws on her heritage as a child of Chinese immigrants in her debut novel For Today I Am A Boy to tell the story of an outwardly typical Chinese immigrant family: a mother, a father and four sisters—one of whom happens to be (biologically) a boy. Fellow author Justin Torres (We The Animals) writes, “Kim Fu reminds us that the human condition is one of change—of becoming, of overcoming—and this novel, in all its complexity, demonstrates how to do so with grace.”

Kim Fu will speak about the book and surrounding issues with Blogger/Author Pairings curator Ron Hogan, creator of the seminal literary blog Beatrice.com.
