Formerly Homeless People Read Their Own Stories

Bookstore readings are not typically newsworthy but how often do people who have experienced homelessness get to read from their book at a college bookstore? On April 24, 7 PM at Book Culture (536 West 112th Street) several individuals will describe their childhood traumas, the devastation of homelessness, and the healing they discovered though community and faith.  All are contributors to Sacred Shelter: Thirteen Journeys of Homelessness and Healing, edited by Susan Celia Greenfield and recently published by Fordham University Press.  Please join us for a different kind of bookstore reading.
