Frans Timmermans will discuss ongoing challenges to freedom of expression in Europe and how to tackle them. This talk is particularly timely given moves against freedom of expression and the media in Hungary, Poland and Turkey, as well as worries about dis/misinformation campaigns throughout Europe.
As First Vice-President, Timmermans is responsible for Better Regulation, Inter-Institutional Relations, the Rule of Law and the Charter of Fundamental Rights.
