Hamptons: Houses & Gardens of the Gilded Age
Architect, author, and historian Gary Lawrance and the National Arts Club visit the Hamptons of the Gilded Age.
Welcome to a rare view into the great summer resort homes that made the Hamptons, often referred to as the “American Riviera,” one of the premier resorts of glamour, luxury, and architectural achievement: Wooldon Manor, the Jesse Woolworth Donahue home; Black Point, the H. H. Rogers mansion; Henry Francis du Pont’s Chestertown House; Villa Mille Fiore; Red Maples; and The Orchard, one of Stanford White’s last major commissions, all framed within a brief history of the Summer Colony.
Gary Lawrance has an extensive background in the history of Gilded Age architecture, landscapes, and society, and co-authored the bestselling book Houses of the Hamptons 1880-1930.
Please note: This event will be held virtually. Details for accessing the program will be sent upon registration.
