Introducing The Library After Hours, a new, free monthly event at the iconic Stephen A. Schwarzman Building.
Join us on select Fridays for a special themed evening featuring music, food and drinks, performances, and behind-the-scenes access to the Library’s collections.
Love in Venice, the newest exhibition at The New York Public Library, opens February 10. Part of Carnegie Hall’s citywide festival, La Serenissima: Music and Arts from the Venetian Republic, Love in Venice delights itself in the cultural, literary, artistic, and musical seductions of the Venetian Republic: its beautiful courtesans, lavish festivals, lively carnivals, and libertine counterculture.
The Library After Hours joins that celebration with specialty cocktails, Italian snacks, guided curator tours of the Love in Venice exhibition, music and dance lessons, mask-making, and short Venetian films from the Library’s archives.
Venice was famous for its exquisite fashion and decadent masked balls. Costumes are encouraged!
Guided Curator tours will take place every 45 minutes throughout the evening, at 7:00, 7:45, and 8:30 PM. Make sure to sign up when you arrive!
Please note that you must be 21+ to attend.
Access to this event is first come, first served. Registration does not guarantee entry.
