The Library After Hours: Revolutionary Journalism

Join us for the city’s most cerebral happy hour as we investigate the journalism of the 1960s. Held in conjunction with our exhibition “You Say You Want a Revolution,” collections displays, films, crafts, and more will bring to life this revolutionary moment experienced by the press. And while you’re here, have a drink, and dance in the halls of The New York Public Library.

Revolutionary Journalism will include:

  • A one-night-only collections display that opens the archives of The New Yorker, The New York Review of Books, and The New York Times
  • A curated selection of 16mm films from the Library’s archives that dive behind the headlines of the 1960s
  • Crafting with the collections to create new poetry with old newspapers and magazines
  • A chance to explore “You Say You Want a Revolution,” the Library’s exhibition on the counterculture of the 1960s and 70s
  • Quiet room with games, coloring, and puzzles
  • Music and dancing courtesy of DJ Rimarkable

Snacks & drinks available for purchase.
