The New Yorker Festival: Oskar Eustis Talks with Rebecca Mead

Oskar Eustis is the artistic director of the Public Theatre and a professor at New York University Tisch School of the Arts. He produced the world premières of “Hamilton” and “Fun Home” at the Public, and has directed plays written by David Henry Hwang, Suzan-Lori Parks, Rinne Groff, and many others. While working as the dramaturg and resident director at Eureka Theatre Company, he commissioned Tony Kushner’s “Angels in America.” He most recently directed Shakespeare in the Park’s 2017 production of “Julius Caesar.” “Stage Left,” Rebecca Mead’s story about him, appeared in the March 22, 2010, issue of The New Yorker.
