Nick Hornby: First Reads

Upon the publication of More Baths, Less Talking—a collection of his popular “Stuff I’ve Been Reading” column in The Believer magazine—Nick Hornby takes on a special assignment: to read a work he’s never read before, then discuss the experience of this literary encounter. Hornby has “long been a supporter of the minor, the offbeat, the under-praised and the unnoticed,” wrote Zadie Smith. “He loves good stuff so much that one might call him the European Ambassador of Goodness; every chance he gets he’s championing a band, a song, a novel, a poet, a charity, an idea.” This event is a collaboration with The Believer magazine.
