Photojournalist Suzanne Stein

Meet photojournalist and writer Suzanne Stein at the National Arts Club.

Suzanne Stein is a dedicated social realist who finds beauty in unusual and often uncomfortable spaces. Her narrative style is characterized by an intense drive to discover and reflect our most human experiences, confronting us with worlds we often do not see or wish to see.

As a single parent living in California, Stein became fascinated with individuals living in “precarious circumstances” and extensively documented the residents of L.A.’s Skid Row. Today, the photographer continues to pursue truth through her lens by chronicling the intensity, joy, despair, and celebration of what it means to be human in New York City.
