Sharon Socol: Plus One

Sharon Socol has been photographing for over 35 years.

In 2001, her husband became the CEO of Barneys New York. Socol, a fashion industry outsider, became the “plus one” on his invitation to the fashion events. Using her camera as a shield, she began to photograph what she saw and felt. Her photos show the constant dialogue between reality and fantasy while illustrating that what is really behind the fantasy and the facades are a lot of real people. Join us for a conversation on her journey into this world, as chronicled in her book Plus One.
