The José Limón Legacy

José Limón (1908–1972) was a modern dance pioneer, both as a dancer and choreographer. As a mesmerizing performer and choreographer, he was a major figure in the modern dance movement of the 30’s-60’s. His company traveled the world under the auspices of the U.S. State Department. The Limón Dance Company and the Limón dance technique have continued and are currently active.

During this even, Artistic Director Dante Puleio will talk about Limón as both dancer and choreographer, show Limón performing, explain and demonstrate the Limón technique and show the current company in performance.

This program is presented in partnership between The National Arts Club and José Limón Dance Foundation.
