Who’s thirsty?
Gathering on the beach or traveling to sun-soaked islands may not be in the cards at the moment, but tiki drinks have a storied history of serving up tropical flavors to the landlocked and homebound. Three bona fide experts swim up to BHS’s virtual stage in this exploration of the history of tiki drinks and culture: Eve Bergeron, granddaughter of “Trader Vic” Bergeron and custodian of the legacy of the inventor of the Mai Tai; Jeff “Beachbum” Berry, who the New York Times has called “the Indiana Jones of tiki drinks;” and Brian Miller, noted bartender and tiki expert. This conversation is moderated by New York Times cocktail writer and author of The Martini Cocktail: A Meditation on the World’s Greatest Drink and many books on cocktail culture, Robert Simonson.
